Vienna to Munich-how can I do it? HELP!
I am having a terrible time trying to figure out how to get from Vienna to Munich. US Airways doesn't fly out of Vienna, but we can fly them from Munich back to Philadelphia. So far I haven't been able to find any info on trains to Munich. We could even take a train somewhere else, such as Rome and then fly home. Does anyone have any suggestions? We've never been to Vienna (or Rome for that matter) and have no clue how to get around. THANK YOU

Unn,
Trains run on a regular basis to and from Vienna. Go to "http://mercurio.iet.unipi.it/misc/timetabl.html" and check out the Swiss railway time table (SBB). Just put in Vienna to Munich and you will get all the choices you want. The trip, during the day, is about 5 hours, non-stop and cost between $70 and $90, depending on class.
Have a good trip.

There are train to Wien (Vienna) from München (Munich) at 6:16 9:28 15:26 with no changes. These trains give you the shortest travel time of about 4 hours and 30 minutes. Other trains require a change in Salzburg, which is no big deal.
All told there are more than a dozen departures from Munich that will get you to Vienna.
I like Vienna. Rome has its following too.
I don't know why you had a problem with Munich - Vienna train information.
The Austrian and German national rail sites are quite handy. The German one is http://reiseauskunft.bahn.de/bin/query.exe/d
There is a section with English captions. Just click on the word English if the German is a problem.
