Vienna Hop on and Hop off bus

Hi, what do you think of the Hop on and Hop off bus tour service in Vienna? Should I wait to buy it when I'm there in the city or book it in advance? Thanks for any suggestions!

No need to book in advance.

When you arrive look into the subway, bus and tram service.

The vienna public transport system is excelent. It can take you to the same places as the hop on - hop off bus at a fraction of the cost. All major tourist sites can be easily reached using the system and allows you much greater flexibility regarding your time.

If you do not wish to use this system, a hop- on ticket can be purchased at the bus when you wish.

Look at website www.wienerlinien.at for more information and numerous ticket offers

I agree(as usual)with molker. Having been to Vienna many times I have found that the public transit is absolutely the most efficient and affordable found anywhere. You can buy 72 hr passes which give you access to U-Bahn, trams, buses, and some S-bahn. Molker, who resides there, is the true expert, his advice is always absolutely reliable.

Thank You Operaman-but not always reliable and no expert.

Above especially true after some wine tasting.

Interesting " Kellergasse Days" recently.

molker; You are too modest. I trust the weather near the Schloss is getting very fine now. Kellergasse days sounds very interesting--and very tasty too.
