Vienna Christmas Market reopens!

Yay, the city's markets are now open again. So far, the announcement has been posted only in German:

https://www.wienerweihnachtstraum.at...-und-eistraum/ Entry has COVID restrictions (proof of being fully vaccinated required). The demonstrations against COVID vaccine mandates continue in the city. Still, at least there is some good news for the vendors.

Meanwhile, here in Basel, the markets have remained open to people with proof of double vaccination. The market is smaller than in years past and is busy without feeling mobbed.

That is great news. Here in the United States, 99% of the people have no idea that those massive demonstrations in Vienna have been occurring because our media choose to ignore reporting on things like that. Same with the frightening things going on in Australia.

I wouldn't know if I didn't routinely google "covid Austria" because we're booked to be there in 3 weeks. I figure if I can visit Paris during the gilets jaunes demonstrations, I can visit Vienna during these.
