Specialists in Seeing Spain?
My husband and I hope to see a good portion of Spain's highlights over spring break next March with two 16 yr old girls in tow. Is this a pleasant time weather wise, and can you recommend a resource for planning what will be inevitably a fast paced trip that will appeal to both 50 something parents and teens?

There have been many similar questions. If you go to the box at the top that reads "View By Country" and click on Spain, you might see some guidance.
In order to get an instructive answer, you must include how much time you have, interests, and relative budget.
Also remember when planning how much time you will lose every time you change towns. Besides packing, unpacking, checking in and out, getting to the bus, train, and airport, waiting time, travel time, and then you must get two teen-age girls to conform to your schedule.

Pleasant/hot/cold depends on where you are going or where you are coming from. No one answer.
In March, during the same trip, I got snowed in Burgos then a hot beach weather in Valencia. Which one is pleasant to you?
You can find out historical weather info easily on your own at many Spanish destinations. For example:
http://www.wunderground.com/history/...yCalendar.html
Is spring break = one week? Then you really don't have much time.
Resources? There are thing called guide books. Just go to a local library and look at several books on Spain. For those starting this without any specific idea, there is a usually a "top" places type of section. I see that you are a cruise type person. If you don't care about living someone else's idea of trip, you can use a TA type of resources. In my experience, their interest is commission and fees first and second and your trip a distant third. If you read this forum, many posters come here to have their trips salvaged after TAs slam-bang put together idiotic itineraries.

if your spring break is 2 weeks or less, you can't hope to see more than a portion of Spain's highlights - it's a big country with lots of great places to go and see.
so pick your top 3 and concentrate on those, or pick a region and enjoy that. Andalusia is wonderful in the spring.

Thank you each for your comments. Clearly I will need to narrow down our destinations within Spain, and perhaps it is best not to work with a TA. My hope is to get just enough professional guidance to be sure our itinerary is feasible. We would have just one full week within Spain (excludes the travel from and back to the US), so we might just focus on two areas. Andalusia may be a contender!

With just one week, you might not even have time for "an area." Maybe Barcelona with a day trip or two or an overnight somewhere. Maybe Madrid with a day trip or two or an overnight somewhere. (IMO -- and it is JMO -- a week is NOT enough for Seville, Cordoba, and Granada.)
As already mentioned, you would do very well to consult a few good guidebooks.

Iberiantraveller is "Robert" of this forum.
I really roll on the floor laughing when a poster asks about weather gets and answer which shows the averages of what has happened in the past. When will forum posters understand that what the AVERAGE of what has occurred means that this is no forecast.
Knowing around five weather forecast sites covering Spain You can most of the time expect for at least 3 of them to be different for the coming days. Some how weather predictions in Spain is difficult.
I agree with the above with only 7 days go to one "area" and choose very carefully what you want to visit. Travelling less means you can see more.

@ ribeirasacra: You are absolutely correct: average temperatures are NOT forecasts. But I wonder why you assume that Fodorites are foolish enough to think they are? Or why you assume that knowing something about the average might be useful to a traveler? When planning a trip, I, personally, would find it helpful to know that the average temperatures in March in Madrid are in the mid-teens on the celsius range, rather than (say) the low 20s of Marrakech or the near 0 degrees of Moscow. YMMV.
