Very special hotel in Bath

Can anyone recommend a very special hotel in Bath, for a very special occasion? We are willing to pay whatever it takes. I have heard there is one outstanding hotel in Bath but of course I can't remember its name.

Like Elaine said #1 Royal Crescent.

Secondly Bath Spa Hotel. I stayed there and had a great time. Staff was very accomodating and the restaurant was surprisingly good. Lovely grounds.

A few years ago we stayed at the Bath Priory Hotel and Restaurant. It was the most magnificient Manor House we have ever had the pleasure of staying at. I went on-line and decided on a particular room, then e-mailed the Hotel and asked for that room (the rooms have names). Our room and sitting room looked out on the beautiful expanse of their English garden. We ate in their restaurant (not inexpensive), which was truly a gourmet dinner. We stayed two nights and wished we had time to stay longer. The staff was delightful, the service top-notch and the distance from the center of town was very do-able, by walking. We would return in a heartbeat! Sandy

Number 1 Royal Crescent is not actually a hotel but a museum!

The Royal Crescent Hotel is however very highly regard hotel, though expensive. Details can be found at http://www.royalcrescent.co.uk/.

The Bath Spa Hotel is another five star hotel set in the city but in more spacious grounds. See http://www.bathspahotel.com/.
