(Very) Reasonable Hotels in Paris: HELP!

Hi..Well, Paris calls and so I will go in early November, after time in Amsterdam...but, since this is so very last minute, I would so appreciate your feedback on very reasonable hotels in Paris...or, even, hostels (that are fairly quiet and , well, pleasant!)...I will be bringing Mom too. Merci.

What is very reasonable in Euros? Please give us the max you want to spend. Your reasonable may be my cheap!Somehow I doubt an older woman would be pleased with a hostel experience.

We stayed at Hotel L'esperance a few years ago for something like 80 euro/night. I can't remember if it was in the 5th or 6th, but they do have a website.

My mom and I just stayed at Hotel Andrea last month. We each had our own single room for 66 euro each. A room with two beds would be under 100. The single rooms are drab and tiny, but clean and nicely located within walking distance of Notre Dame, the Louvre, etc.

at easter this year we stayed in hotel mercure place d'italie - it was about £85 a night for 2 adults. Was fine, nxt to metro, had a cool Sunday market right outside. Failing that try an Ibis - they're usually cheap & cheerful but ok for the money

I haven't stayed here yet, but after a lot of looking I've booked at Le Sevigne (not De Sevigne) - www.le-sevigne.com/ang_accueil.htm. Singles are 67 euros and twins 86 euros. Location looks good.

I recomend Hotel Saint-Jacques http://www.hotel-saintjacques.com/en/rate_en.htm (about 110 for double)

it is very comfortable for your mother, close to notre dame, and has very good service
