I am looking at traveling Venice to Verona in July. However, there is a 2 hr gap in train service in the afternoon between 2:42pm and 4:42pm (from Mestre.) Are there bus companies serving Venice - Verona?

Hello greg, I am not really sure I understand your problem. Is there some reason you cannot take one of the trains to Verona?

In any case as far as I know there is no bus service between Venice (including from Mestre) to Verona.

Hi Greg - I think you must be mis-reading the timetable.

trenitalia.com shows departures from Mestre to Verona at:

14.42 - 15.03 - 15.30 - 16.03 - 16.42

I do NOT want to wait until the 16.42 train, but the 14.42 train is too tight after arriving at Marco Polo.

According to Trenitalia, for July 15th, followings are the only trains between Mestre and Verona Porta Nuova:

16:42

What Steve mentioned, 15.03 and 15.30 trains, are available in May but not in July.

Italian train site probably not showing all trains after june 12 or so the start of summer schedules and are notorious for not loading until shortly before - the trains Steve mentions will no doubt be running at that time.

The full summer timetable is not yet loaded for all routes. Re-check trenitalia.com near the time.
