Venice - Locanda Barbarigo or Hotel Campiello
We are travelling to Venice in September and can stay in either of these two hotels. Both have had good reviews on this board, but the Barbarigo is about 30 Euros a night cheaper than Campiello. The room offered at the Barbarigo is "Columbina" which is an internal room (no view).

Which should we choose? Any views appreciated.

We stayed at Locanda Barbarigo recently and it was great. Now, we had a really big room (we were a family of two adults and two teens), the Rosaura, which had a canal view and it was beautiful. The location is great --a short walk to St. Mark's Square and lots of places to eat and shop nearby. I didn't see inside the other rooms, so can't tell you about the Columbina, but we loved this hotel. The owner, Cristina, is very nice, too.
One caveat: We had to pay in cash, not credit cards. When we checked out, I had to run to the nearest ATM to get enough money to pay.
Pam
We also stayed in the Rosaurio room. it has a bath with a shower and it is very nice. We could not see the canal from our window but we heard o solo mio a few times. It did not keep us up at night.

We also stayed in the Guilito (I think )room. It is actually 2 rooms. 1 room with a small bed and another room with a king. It was internal and had no view. It was also up more stairs.

I must warn you, there are a lot of stairs and no one was able to handle our luggage. We were fine. Travel light. Other than that the room was great!

Debby
