Venice Budget Apartment Hunting-HELP!
My Husband and I are looking for budget accomadations in Venice from Sept. 13-17th. I've read a couple of threads that recommend renting an apartment so we'd have use of a kitchen (in order to save most of culinary budget for Tuscany).
Has anyone rented through La Dolce Vita rentals, and in particular the CA' BETTY apartment? I'd certainly appreciate ANY advice.
Thanks , Ardie

I haven't rented from that agency, but they've been around for some time. Of the selection on their website, I'd take the Clode over the Betty. It just looks a lot more hospitable. The Clode also has a 4 burner stove with oven; looks like the only oven in the Betty is a microwave - can't tell if there are hob type burners by the sink, or if that's something else. Note that gas, electric & water are not included in the rental price. Some renters are quite surprised when presented with the bill for consumptions.

As well as Venicerentals.com (who we've also rented successfully through) I'd also try veniceapartments.org who have a large range of apartments (not all on the website) and who are also terrific to deal with. Both of these agencies have a "utilities included" policy - so no nasty surprises at the end!
