Venice & Greece or Venice & Switzerland?
Hi. Our plans are finalized for our European trip this year (Provence & French Riviera) and we're beginning to talk about possible trips for 2006.
Have been to Italy before but did not visit Venice. Would like to spend some time in Venice, but are considering pairing it with either Greece (Athens and an island or two) or Switzerland (Berner Oberland and Swiss/Italian Lakes.)
Are either of these options doable? We have traveled both by rail and car, and are open to inter-Europe flights as well. Would have 15-16 days max to spend.
Would appreciate any feedback.

Of course, the Lakes, Alps, Venice itinerary is terrific. IMHO, Greece does not fit with Italy and is worth at least 10 days on it's own.
Try hard to do an open jaw flight itinerary into Zurich and home from Venice or vice versa. With 15 days you can easily include the Berner Oberland, Luzern, Lugano/Como, and Venice. I would do it 5-2-3-5 or 5-3-3-4.
