Hi Noel
I have a file on Venice; if you'd like to see it, email me.
I recommend that you buy a good guidebook which will of course also give you suggestions on things that will interest you.

Noel, can you fill us in on:
a) which day of week and time will you be arriving?
b) at what time of are you planning to leave Venice?

I've given countless suggestions on how to spend 3 days in Venice in the past few years, but they all took into account the info I'm asking above.

Also, on a 3-day visit to Venice, I normally recommend a tour to the lagoon islands. Would you rather visit Murano or the Burano/Torcello combo?

Paulo

Oops, to know about time of year is also important (sunlight hours also may have an effect).
Paulo

Paulo and Elaine:

I would also appreciate your suggestions since we will be arriving in Venice by train on Friday morning, April 20 and leaving on Monday evening.

It's a trip on short notice and aside from getting train and hotel resservations (a little difficult), I haven't had time to do anything else.

One of my best meals in Italy during the last trip was at Al Covo Ristorante. You'll need to get directions, but it's not very far from Piazza San Marco. Very expensive & worth every lire.

Hi Elaine, We will be in Venice the 1st of May. I would really appreciate your e-mailing me your file also. Can anyone tell me if there is any phone # you can call in advance to make reservations to get into these places? Is it necessary to have reservations? Thank you.
