Try these, they're supposed to have bus info for Italy, I haven't explored them
www.annells.demon.co.uk/main/busita.htm
http://150.217.9.3/ie/citybus.htm

There are many bus companies that operate in the Veneto. Some have their own sites, others don't.

The province of Venice is served by ACTV
http://www.actv.it/inglese/autolinee.htm#exnoromaze

One other bus company that is based near Venice with services to quite a few cities in Veneto is ATVO
http://www.atvo.it/Eng/EnHome.htm

Province of Verona is served by APT
http://www.apt.vr.it/

Between which cities do you intend to possibly travel by bus?

Paulo

Holly, one has to take a bus from Bassano del Grappa, Treviso or Castelfranco Veneto to Ca' Vescovo. From there, a local bus will take you into town.

You may try

http://www.comune.asolo.tv.it/Serviz...Trasporti.html

If you have trouble with the Italian language just ask away.

Paulo

PS. Never took a bus in that area and have no idea on how far this Ca' Vescovo is from the town centre. Please don't be mad at me if my "educated" guess is off the mark

I may as well "translate" the symbols you'll find in the site given above:

f = feriale = weekdays (including saturdays)
F = festivo = sundays and holidays
G = tutti i giorni = daily
S = giorni di scuola = school days

Paulo

Hmmm... this is certainly starting to look like a challenge, getting to Asolo. I may have to give it up and just stick with Bassano and Treviso, as well as other places that can be reached by Train! Thanks so much for guiding me to this most invaluable website.

Hello again Holly,

What time do you want to go?
From Treviso there are buses (No.9 or No.10) departing at 08.00, 09.00, l0.00, - according to the online timetable. The ride is 55 minutes to Ca' Vescovo, on the main road below Asolo. From there, there is a connecting shuttle service for the 5 minute ride up into town, as I said.

From Bassano it's a 35 minute ride.

Hope this helps.

Steve
I would probably like to go to Asolo from Bassano, but I plan on visiting Treviso as well. My schedule is not written in stone, at this point. I will be staying in Venice for 14 days in April and plan on doing a number of daytrips from there. How frequent is the shuttle bus from Ca Vescovo (and why isn't that place on my map, while Asolo is???)? I really appreciate all the help you guys are giving me on this. I just want to nail down the details before I leave, as I don't expect I'll be hearing much English spoken in these small towns, and my Italian is limited, to say the least.

I may only guess, Holly. I'd say that Ca' Vescovo is the name of the "place" where intercity buses stop just outside Asolo. It may simply be the name of a palace or house that's in the neighborhood, not a town.

The ride from Ca' Vescovo into Asolo takes only 5 minutes, with a stop enroute (meaning that the total distance is something around 3/4km and you may easily take a taxi instead).

According to the site I mentioned above, regular buses on weekdays run from Ca' Vescovo into Asolo at 07:15 08:05 08:30 09:05 10:00 10:35 11:10 11:35 12:30 13:15 13:35 13:55 14:45 16:25 17:10 17:35 18:40 19:08 19:35

Once again, your plans shouldn't be hindered by local bus frequency (if there isn't an immediate bus as you arrive from Bassano or elsewhere). A taxi would certainly do (and I'd guess that there should be plenty around when each and every intercity bus arrives).

Paulo
