Vatican Gardens in Winter???

Is it worth doing a tour of the Vatican Gardens in Winter (early January) ??

The gardens aren't that exciting in May - no way I would head there in Jan. Italy is a temperate climate - and in Jan there is very little to see anyplace in the country.

They are hardly worth it at any time of year - just another money maker for the Church.
