Variations of Clara in Madrid

Hi when I was in Madrid, they were serving two types of Clara, one beer with fanta lemon, the other beer with soda water (I think)?
Can anyone "clarify" with the spanish? How do you order it? gracias.

"clara" (the traditional one with gaseosa, a brand of soda water) and "clara con limón" (the one with fanta lemon).

you can order, "una clara con fanta" or "una clara con gaseosa".

gaseosa, la casera,( pretty similar but less sweet than 7-up) is calorie- free and the first diet drink in spain about 40 years ago or more. but they never told anybody until some years ago when diet coke started being available.

Yes, La Casera is the most famous brand...but you don't ask for "cerveza con la casera" just for a "clara".

travel_buzzing,
Besides the classic La Casera, they also have a lemon and an orange soda (and a cola too). Now owned by Cadbury-Scweppes.

ahhhhh that is why i have this memory. One several occasions (in madrid) when I ordered a clara, they asked "de casera?"
The first couple of times i didnt get the question and returned to the bar to ask for more fanta lemon.

I'm used to the clara in Barcelona- always made with fanta lemon.

thanks for that!
