there are a couple youth hostels here for about 30 euros a night, i think.
and hostels near the central market.
i like this area better than the train station area.
if i find websites will let you know.
is this too budget? probably could get a 4 star hotel for about 50 euros plus tax with bancotel coupons if that is not too much and the difference would be amazing.
try www.bancotel.com to check your dates. i can suggest best placed hotels once availibility is defined.

Garyestlke: Have you followed up on Lincasanova's suggestions? He/she offers very helpful advice about Spain and is often prepared to go to considerable trouble to help visitors.
Please do follow up with him/her; I don't think you will regret it.
If you are expecting a complete answer in five words that will save you any and all effort on your own part, I'm afraid you will be disappointed.

both are well located. my husband's aunt used to own the venecia.
if you want inexpensive small sandwiches for a euro snack.. got to 100 montaditos in the church square across from finnigan's. (fun pub).
they give you at 100 montaditos, a choice of 100 different finger sandwiches, each cost one euro, plus they add a pile of potatoe chips.
fun place!!
watch your wallet. no back pockets.
most of our museums used to be free. don't know how much you are into them, but the tourist kiosk in the church plaza (plaza de la reina) will give you all the info you need.
hostal el rincon was just remodeled,a and it was pleasant before that even.
