vacation home in greece?

does anyone have any contacts for house rental information for greece? I am trying to put together a trip for 12 people and it makes the most sense to rent a house. any suggestions?

You can look at www.VRBO.com, but I didn't see any in the islands big enough for 12. There may be a couple though that act as multi units that you can rent out if full. Take a look.

I wonder if "yellowdot" has been able to find any of the three posts made here. Might not know "click on your own name". See if it help to bring this message back up "to the top".

There are lots of companies based in the UK that rent houses in Greece, but 12 is on the hefty side.

I know that Freelance has one in Crete and I think that Simply Crete has one too. But that is a big house by Greek standards.

Let me know what you find out. I, too, am looking for a rental for 8 people - 2 families. I'm still not sure where we'll base ourselves - mostly interested in relaxing on a nice beach and possibly doing a couple of day trips - Athens and perhaps 1 or 2 islands. Most of the houses I've looked at aren't on the beach - they're on cliffs. Any recommendations on a good base, near a beach?

Greek beaches tend to be very narrow. All the houses I've seen are on cliffs.

Not trying to hi-jack this post, but perhaps YellowDot can also benefit from this information since we both have large groups.
What about a hotel/suites on the beach that would have separate bedrooms and perhaps a kitchenette to accommodate 4 people? In lieu of a house, I'd consider renting a couple of these if it provides easier access to the beach. DOes these types of places exist anywhere there?

Good suggestion from Sandiedog. If staying on an island is an option, Perissa and Kamari Beaches on Santorini have some self-catering hotels right on or very near the beachfront.

thank you all for the helpful suggestions. I am following up on them all and will report back. Sandiedog, thank you for that great idea. please let me know if you find any info. I will do the same.
it would be a great solution to have some privacy with such a large group.
