I like slowtrav a lot too--I have been using it to plan a friend's upcoming visit. It's hard to know which restaurants are really good in a guidebook, but slowtrav seems a little more convincing.

Also, check out my site: http://thelongtriphome.com , which isn't really for planning, but for reading about travel (a literary magazine for travelers). As I live in Italy, most of my writing tends to be Italy-centric, while other writers have also written about their travels in Italy, as well as many other places around the world. Here are some pages you might check out to "inspire you!"

Florence related:

Assisi related:

Umbria and Le Marche related:

finally Emilia Romagna related:

Deirdré . .

If this isn't a hoot . . I had seen many of your contributions here and somehow thought the writing style seemed familiar . . I had string of "conversations" with you when you were working for Adaptec/Roxio.

My metamorphosis to a nerd came late in life . . after retirement actually, when I had no IT support and decided I would be it. For the life of me I cannot recall the issue with CD burning ( it was fairly new in those days) but you helped me out of a bind . .

Good to "hear" you again . . Rich
