And I assume she was smart enough NOT to vote for Bushie Jr?

Henceforth, I will be referring to Mr. Bush as President Yeltsin. You know, a drinking problem, not competent, propped up by others except for heavily scripted appearance.

I can't wait for his first foreign policy press conference. No Jim Leher to hide behind.

The stench is getting stronger in here. Al Gore should be in prison for his campaign finance abuses. He has Janet Reno to thank for his freedom. He co-opted many of the Republican planks in his platform (a trick he learned from his boss), every job he held was part of his family's lifetime orchestration to get him elected president. He grew up in a hotel suite in Washington, for godsakes. I am a reluctant Bush supporter, but only because the taste of bile in my mouth makes it impossible to vote for Gore. I voted for Bradley in the primaries and would have happily supported him for president. I toyed with the idea of voting for Nadar but found his positions on the environment to be a bit wacky, his positions on business and the economy to be a bit extreme, and his positions on foreign policy to be non-existant. Most of you goof balls don't even know why you are Democrats or Republicans. You are what you are because someone once told you it was the best choice and now you are too stupid to change your minds. I am surprised this thread is on the Europe forum because you all belong in the Disneyland thread. Mickey Mouse crap. These are the same fools who think the Ed and Rex love this site because they are interested in helping others. Give me a break. Where is Neal Sanders, the only voice of reason, when we need him. I may not agree with his politics, but I'm sure his comments would be articulate and thoughtful.

How could the election for (arguably) the most powerful leader in the world have turned into such a farce?

So no system is perfect. But democracy will prevail and George W will become President.
Many fought and died for the right to vote. Don't mock it.

Just a thought...my father the "original Republican party man", when asked by me, what he thought about the the election dilemma, replied and I quote "they are both good men, and the country will be OK with either one".

After reading some of the posts in this conversation, I now see the wisdom in the founding fathers coming up with the electoral college.

First of all, humor is not a strong point for all-- I was joking about traveling in Europe for four years. Don't take everything so literally! I have been contributing to this forum for over a year, with pages and pages of help. I do not read the comics or horoscopes. I do have a strong opinion that pleasant, recovering Dumb-be-ya is a child of privilege who doesn't seem to think or read, and is not up to this job. He is also a smirking hypocrite who seems to be sure about only one thing: that everyone is has executed in Texas was guilty. Many of us are dismayed at the prospect of the decision-making to come...

You sure you don't want to go? I'll chip in a few bucks for your one way plane ticket. Nut.

Dear "Hit The Road"
If you have been on this forum for any time you will have probably read my helpful comments and suggestions. If not, let me assure you that I have contributed unselfishly. People who have different political opinions are not "nuts." They have different opinions. I have seen the breakdown of this forum little by little, by people who are dismissive and otherwise useless. Get over it-- politics and politicians are fair game, especially on a thread about politics! I am concerned about W and his mediocrity--sorry you don't agree. I shall skip this thread hence, to avoid the dismissive rants. Bye now. Gotta go do great things.
