Hi, I will be traveling to Rome in 10 days and I would like guidance on which areai to stay. I am looking for a clean place within reasonable walking distance (20 mins or so) to the main sights. This is a kind of a sudden visit and I have not had much time to do my homework. I am a single traveler and would like a room less than US $150. Thanks,

You want to stay near the Trevi fountain. Look into the Hotel White. Very nice hotel which is right down the street from the trevi.

Contact the Hotel San Carlo. Tell them Kathleen Kelly has recommended it to you.

Venere is not always accurate for availability. When their block of rooms is gone in a hotel it says there is no availability. You need to contact the hotel. I have looked up on Venere when they say there is nothing available and then contacted the hotel and they have rooms.
