Is an Argentine steakhouse in Amsterdam different than regular steakhouses?

Do they import a lot of Argentine beef to Holland?

Do they import the Argentine prices?

If you want an American style steak in Europe you go to an Argentinian steakhouse. Spain has good steaks in local restaurants but not in any other country in my experience.

Gauchos is a chain of Argentinian steak restaurants in The Netherlands. They have a few restaurants in Amsterdam: www.gauchos.nl

Although it is a chain, the steaks are pretty good and not to pricy.

I've eaten at several of the Grasshoppers as well as a couple others and they were in the very HEART of that nasty area where those terrible tourists are found.

Not too far from your hotel, AirGorilla.

the results: usually i thought the quality of the steak was good and it was a LOT thicker than some of that paper-thin "steak" you often see in Europe.

And no, there is NOTHING WRONG with eating this kind of food in that city IMO...

Beef from Argentina is not any more grass fed as it was ever before .it is very cheap in buying comparing with Black Angus
from Scotland or the Wagyu from Japan
try any of these at Toro Dorado

Thanks for all your replies. We ate at Gauchos on Spui, very close to the Renaissance, and it was very fine. Had a nice filet, great bottle of vino from Argentina, and real good shrimp appetizer. The cost was reasonable. I would return there, without a doubt!

Again, thanks for the replies.
