I wish to hell I'd ordered one on our Ryanair flight from Toulouse to Milan today. I was truly wondering how they thought that elderly people or those with mobility problems were going to trek down four flights of rickety stairs to the ground and then two flights up again onto the plane. I'm no wuss, but this was a total nightmare. If I'd ordered a wheelchair I could have been a prima donna and just relaxed.

Joannyc---- GOD Bless u
For saying that
I was sooo confused
Bc im new here
As to why the hell would these people click the link just to write some bitter , unhelful, negative comment for a new traveler that is already facing too many obstacles and trying hard to pull this trip off.
I guess they did not have to click on it after all.. Only reason that comes to mind for writting unhelpful mean spitited commend i can think - is that they r bitter, lonley, bored people in front of their computers w nothing better to do than to try to belittle someone looking for info.

For those of u that have genuinely helped, i really appreciate it soo much.
My guide books arrived the day b4 we left, and theyve been a life savor.
My dream came true to see ET at dusk, totally coincidently .. And it was worth it, as i saw it during the day w view from summit and than all lit up.
Mom is very stubborn , wont sit on wheelchair,
Hard for her to keep up, so plans do change at times, and she cries a lot for my dad... A LOT.. All of a sudden.. but im making the best/ most of it.. I really love the paris feel. I knew i would.
Any suggestions for great resturaunts / french authentic food experience ?
Also i Love chanel - not sure if there is anything soecial besides store in paris?

Hi Marvalous mouse and Thursday
Having a GREAT time, I Really LOVE Paris, i just wish i had more time...
we didn't get to hit all on our list..I feel like we are cramming a lot in. I bought the hop on hop off, even though i hate it ,bc for some reason my mom loves it. (god we are so opposites)
It's so crowded, so many tourists.
We had a guided tour for the Louvre which i bought prior to leaving just to ensure (skipping the line), which is really worth it. However, it was sooo unbelievably crowded, it took away from being able to enjoy the art. there was literally thousands in each room, you could not see the paintings. there were hundreds maybe over a thousand just in front of the mona lisa pushing and shoving..
but at least i got to go, it's just not the way i would have liked to enjoy art. One person at the Louvre actually almost made mom fall down the stairs.. Therefore, I canceled my trip to the Orsay (sp) and other museums when I saw the mob outside.I passed by the Orsay a lot and really wish i could go see but its' just not enjoyable like that. There is another very large building/ place with a planetarium dome looking ceiling that we keep passing by and i do not know what it's called, as you pass you see flashing lights in the dome part? looks very interesting.
However, we really enjoyed the ET (again loved the skip the lines precooked ticket i did), and the Seine river boat ride.
We made it to Notre Dame and St Chappel (TY sooo much Thursday for recommending) LOVED it, so magical.
and we made it to Arc de Triomphe and Champs Elysees tonight. My mom loves the christmas markets, she can't seem to get enough of them, LOL
and I made it to chanel tonight, the one by Champs Elysees (not sure if there is a price difference in paris stores), but its much cheaper than the states.
I just may get my first chanel bag here--
there was a limited edition they had that was so cute, and now I'm not sure which to get, bc i always wanted the classic but the new limited edition one was so different. gotta see if i can splurge on this without being broke and feeling guilty.
tomorrow is the Last day
and we head for London on the 29th in am.
for the last day, mom wants us to go see Versailles castle half day, but my friend that just left paris is recommending we see other sites in paris and the Montmarte neighborhood.
what do you think?
Thanks again sooo much for all your help, I would have been sooo lost without your guidance.

I think you have plenty of stuff to see in Paris. It's not all like the louvre you know- you've just got to find where the crowds aren't. Even in major museums like the Louvre there are usually galleries that aren't crowded.
Considering energy and abilities, I'd stay and do Paris stuff.
But it could be that your mom really wants to see Versailles, and it would be different than what you've seen so far.

Lilly2016,
Very glad to hear you are enjoying your trip!
You hit the nail on the head as to why some posters are so nasty here, from my experience. So many additional reasons too. It is sad they can't be more helpful with their travel experiences. What is the reason for posting otherwise?

I think I would avoid going to Versailles, unless you can get a bus tour - which would make it more comfortable for your mother to travel to the chateau. But after that, there will be interminable miles of walking and standing in line.
It's a long way to go to find out that she won't be able to get around to see what she thought she might. Lots of stairs, etc.
If you thought the Louvre was crowded, Versailles will be at peak tourist level this week.
Why not ask your hotel to book an afternoon tea at Le Meurice hotel, instead? I go here every year, and it's a really enjoyable experience. As long as you're around the Christmas markets...

Thank u for the info..
Im going to try to convince mom to skip versailles.. If we went wed b going w a tour.. To skip the lines. A little more but includrs ur trip there and bk and guided.. Its 4 hrs total.
The reason we couldnt go in the less crowded rooms in the Louvre was bc we were w the guided tpur and she was showing us the highlights and just that took 3 1/2 hrs.. We did check out two other sections on our own.
I dont mind crowds but even the guide said the louvre was exceptionally crowded that day.,
The tea room sounds amazing
Any good resturaunts for our last night ?

Probably skip St. Paul's as you have tickets to Westminster already? It looks like too much to me too. What is your priority? I would do your top choice first thing and then see how you feel.
And for NYE, I'd buy gourmet stuff- meats, cheeses, crackers, smoked salmon- champagne- and a bakery treat or candy and just feast in your room. It would be more relaxing and likely cheaper anyway. I don't always go out on NYE- crowds, cold, etc. make it not so fun.
You could check out other hotels, though, and see if someone is offering a buffet? Because fancy hotels sometimes do those and they are easier to get into last minute than a restaurant.

Since you have tickets you do the Tower and Westminster Abbey. You do St. Paul's if you have time and not otherwise.
What are you doing at Buckingham Palace? You can't go inside, and it's a rather boring building.
If you're going to the BM you could add Covent Garden that day, although I would recommend the V&A.
