Urgent Help - hotel/city between FCO and Montepulciano tomorrow night

Due to weather delays leading to a missed connection, we will be arriving at FCO 6 hours later than expected. We were supposed to pick up our rental car and drive to our apartment in Montepulciano. The delays have made it where we can't possibly arrive before midnight.

Does anyone have a suggestion for a spot to stop between FCO and Montepulciano that would allow late check-in? It's my husband and I and our two young sons (4 and 6). We normally stay in nice but not luxury accommodations- in cities, the 200E/night range. We will have a rental car.

Thanks for any and all ideas! I've got two hours until we depart to fIgure something out!!

Just off the phone and AutoEurope was able to change up the car rental. So now the hotel business!

If you still need to pick up your car at the airport the next day, how about a hotel at Ostia or Ostia Antica (15min drive)? Booking.com is showing heaps of options for hotels.

Sorry, I think I had my mind more on Tuscany. Hilton is convenient, you walk there through a tunnel. Expensive but close.

Thank you so much - we ended up doing the Hilton. It was expensive, but the best choice especially since we faced another delay on our rebooked second-leg flight from LHR.
