Another one via FedEX took 2 days. But that was express shipment, which costs extra.

I ordered one to be shipped to the US. I think I just paid for regular shipping and received it about 1 week later - maybe 10 days. I can't remember if it arrived via mail or UPS. Good Luck!

When I ordered an upgrade of my old United Mobile sim I got a new one in less than two weeks. Try contacting them again, this time by phone.

Thanks to all. Took sjj's suggestion and called UM after not receiving an email.
My SIM has been shipped and the normal time according to UM is 11-12 days, so
I think all is well.

Got mine in 4 days delivery to Paris. However, each time I try to use it says the system is busy. Check it out before you leave and if anyone else has had this problem, let me know how you resolved. If not, I'll post once I learn!

Also, know that you do not dial direct to your number with them. You dial the number, hang up and it redials you with the connection (in a perfect world

You have to activate the card. If you've already done it and it still doesn't work, you can allways dial from the menu. Which phone, btw.?

It's "Tools/United Mobile" on Motorola. Anyway it's in the same menu you'd find the calculator or the alarm clock.

1239....

Check out www.prepaidgsm.net. There has been some trouble with some activations on the UM+ service; you might have to call customer service to get it rectified. Also, in the past, I have found some difficulties with operators such as UM (when it was +423), O9 and some of the isle of Man sims using French networks...somehow they have been able to block use of the card...have you tried manually selecting a different roaming network in France (like SFR instead of Orange Fr)...that might resolve the problem.

I know I put the card through its paces while I was in London last week and as far as making calls and sending sms message is seemed to work fine (don't need the card in the UK as I use local sims there given how absurdly cheap it is to call the USA on T Mobile UK or Orange something like 3p or 5p per minute but I did want to test the card out in Europe and it worked insofar as calls to both my USA and UK mobiles were completed successfully and calls back were completed successfully and unlike the Isle of Man sim cards, caller id functioned flawlessly which is a problem as of now on the Isle of Man cards.

However, be aware that as of now voicemail is not working and even worse, to some degree, if somebody calls your Jersey UM+ card when it is off, at least from the USA, the caller gets a message that the international call cannot be completed not the standard type message with voicemail off that the caller is unavailable and this could mean somebody might think they have the wrong number and just give up.

But United Mobile has always been a well run operation in the past, forced by the high termination fees on the +423 cards to abandon what had been a good service and replace it with the +44 service and I have no doubt these glitches will be worked out....it almost seems that with the number of calls to the +423 cards falling off drastically because of the ridiculously high termination fees, they rushed the UM+ cards out the door before they had completed all the checking and whatever making us all beta checkers for them but it looks like they have a winner here.

sorry to interject a question in this post, but xyz123, am I correctly deducing that on future travels we will need to get one of the UM+ cards to replace our 423 UM SIM card? Thanks in advance for any insight you can give on this.

I'm not up to xyz123 in cell phone smarts, but I think I can answer the United Mobile upgrade question. The experts at prepaidgsm.net think United Mobile is going to phase out its 423 sim. They suggest upgrading but keeping the old sim active for a while because United Mobile's new sim still has a few problems. United Mobile customer support made the same suggestion to me when I phoned them about it.

If will be replaced free of charge plus you can keep your old one. Just need to register on their site.

Thanks sjj and logos. I vaguely recall having seen an email from them regarding this but as I won't be travelling in the near future, left it to be dealt with later. Looks like I ought to give it a second look.

Saga continues-my card didn't show up within the 11 days. I called a couple of times last week and was told to wait until today, Saturday. If not received to call them. Called and they are closed on Saturday. Will call again Monday and see if they can express one and hope to get it before end of week when we are to leave. Any other suggestions appreciated. Right now I am not so happy with United Mobile's customer service.
