That link for learning to row did not work Jangita, but I think this one will: http://rowvenice.org/ It sounds fascinating, and though it is said one can't teach old dogs new tricks, I would like to give it a try wnen next I go to Venice.

For me, the absolute number one choice would be the Biennale:

I've been twice and hope to go again some day. Added bonus is that you get to see the Arsenale.
I also think a Chorus Pass is a great idea for walkers. Tracking down all the churches is fun.
