UK opening to cdouble vaccinated
The UK will allow double vaccinated (or single with Janssen) in from the EU and US from August 2nd. without the need to quarantine.
Now come on US how about a bit of reciprocity.
Expect ridiculously high prices should you go though.

Had already booked to go on Sunday and do the quarantaine. Have changed to Monday.
Am waiting for further info; still the test on day 2 I suppose, to be booked in advance.
Wondering what they will do with people who have arrived in UK and are in quarantaine now for 10 days.

So I'm now arriving in the UK on the 2nd instead of the 1st. And not via France, since driving 50 km through France will lead to quarantine.

I'm as much at home in London as I am in Belgium.

<<Thanks Annhig. Traveling is an adventure these days. Taking the ferry to Harwich, it's been ages since I did that.>>
I think I took the Hook to Harwich ferry once, Tulips, but when and why I have no idea. It could have been when I was going by train to my German pen friend's wedding back in about 1977 [now that did feel like an adventure] but I have a recollection of catching the boat train to Dover. I remember changing in Cologne, but that is just as consistent with going via Dover as it is through Harwich. Anyway i hope your adventure works out for you and you are able to enjoy yourself while you're here.

Well, the ferry to Harwich was fine, and the cabin had a good bed. All very well organised. Vaccine status was asked on the form but not checked. Covid test and locator form were scrutinised at check-in. Arriving in the UK they only checked passport.
Meanwhile travel from France has opened up again, so next time it will be the Eurotunnel again.
