Has anyone reserved Uffizi tickets through tickitaly.com? Last time we were in Florence our hotel took care of our reservations, but this time not. What's the best way for us to reserve ahead (and how far ahead can you reserve)?

Why can't your hotel do it for you? That is the easiest, and cheapest way. If you are not staying in a hotel, you can call them; you will find about a zillion posts here with the phone number. Do a search. How far ahead depends on when you will be in Florence.

You can also phone the gallery directly and book your tickets. That's what I did when I went to Florence this summer and I thought it was quire easy.

You will get a six-digit confirmation number. Go to the Main Entrance of the Accademia and collect your tickets. There’s mixed information about accepting credit cards, so take cash with you.

The cost, per ticket is between 10-12,5€, which includes the reservation fee.

I suggest that you call two-three weeks before the trip.

I meant to write Uffizi, not Accademia, but it's late on Christmas night and I'm tired.

Call from home, weeks before you leave, and ask for a timeslot early or late - early before the hordes come in off the buses, or late in the hope they have left. Early is best.
