Uffizi Tickets

Any suggestions in obtaining tickets to the Uffizi museum? Is there a way to reserve tickets on the internet, and how far in advance can I reserve them? Thanks!

You can reserve tickets for Uffizi and Accademia at this address:

http://www.weekendafirenze.com/musei.htm

Be sure that the reservation is for the right date before you submit your credit card number. I tried booking for tickets in September and it came up as August.

I actually ended up ordering by phone. Here's the number if you want to do it that way instead:

055 294883

You can also try www.spendini.com --
it is a hotel chain in FLorence which makes reservations for the Uffizi and Academia--you do NOT have to stay there for this service. They have a charge as do all other sites---but it too is nominal.

Andy - I tried Spendini.com (as well as Spendini.com.it) but neither came up. Please clarify what the correct URL is.
Thanks!

I used weekenafirenze.com to get tickets , too. It was a nightmare!!!! They never sent the confirmation numbers to me so when we arrived at the Medici Chapel they turned us away, suggesting that we go to the Uffizzi to check on things......so off we trudged......did I mention that it was hot there? At the Uffizzi we were told that they have lots of trouble with that company and to go away, they couldn't help us, (did I mention the heat?). Up to this point it was too early in the morning to call them at their office. We finally got thru to them on the telephone and they were quite snippy about the whole thing(It must have been the heat). They insisted that they had mailed me the numbers, yadda yadda yadda. Anyway, we finally got it straightened out and almost three hours after we set out, we were back at the Chapels with confirmations in hand. At the Uffizzi later that day (our reservation had been for 4:30) we waltzed right in and the next morning we breezed past a 2 block long line at the Accademie at 8:30am and had David all to ourselves, literally, for about 15 minutes!! Sooooooo, make your reservations, but make SURE that you've got the CONFIRMATION numbers before you leave home.

Karen
sorry to hear you had a bad experience with weekend a firenze. I thought they were great, on the other hand.
When I first emailed the order I didn't receive a confirmation for a couple of days, and I emailed again to inquire.
Two days after that I received the confirmation number, which I printed out and brought with me as recommended.
Waltzed in at both the Uffizi and Accademia. Glad at least your problem worked out.

We called to reserve our tickets and it worked out fine. However, the short phone call that it took cost us $27!!

We were in Italy this summer and used Selectitaly.com to book Uffizi and Gallerie accademia. It worked great..no problems at all. You do pay a premium but it was worth it in July.

weekend@firenze and others charge an outrageous commission for something that you can do for free. Call +39-055-294883 for the booking office. An English speaking operator will book for you. The galleries do not take credit cards, you must pay in cash, so it you need to charge them, a service you will have to use. Or, if you just can't make the call to the office yourself, email your hotel and ask them to do it for you. I own a hotel in Florence and actually offer to book for all my guests before they arrive.
