Yes. Unless you enjoy standing in lines for a long time. It is very easy to make reservations for a set time before you go. Do a search on Uffizi and the number should pop up in the results. I was very happy we had made these arrangements as it saved us a lot of time when we were there in May 2001.

We visited the Accademia on Saturday May 11th ~5:45pm- right after the 5:00 mass in English in the Duomo (which was beautiful by the way!) and there was NO line and almost no one there. By 6:15 we had David almost all to ourselves. It was great! The museum does close at 6:50.

Sept. 20th 2001 - Bargello, 0 min. Accademia, 5 min. Uffuzi, 3 Hrs.
I would suggest reservations for Uffuzi. At the very least, you can buy the reserved tickets the day before if it's not a busy time. We bought ours about 3PM, and already the only available time was 3PM the next day - this was not a busy time. The no-reserve line moves that much slower because of all the reservation tickets going ahead of you. With the reservations, I seem to remember you have a 15 min. window to get lined up.
If you plan ahead, you can also reserve a tour of the Vasari corridor from the P. Signora to Boboli gardens during the spring or fall months. (3 hrs one morning). Scan this site or the internet for the phone no. and details.

You don't say when you're going but if it is in the summer, definitely YES.
We were there MaY 1 AND THE LINE WAS SEVERAL BLOCKS LONG. tOURS ARE ALL OVER THE PLACE IN THE SUMMER AND ONE THING YOU DON'T WANT TO DO ON VACATION IS STAND IN LINE. tHERE WAS EVEN A BLOCK LONG LINE AT THE DUOMO AND THE MEDICI
CHAPEL. IF YOU WANT TO GO TO A CATHEDRAL IN ITALY AND NOT STAND IN LINE
YOU CAN ENTER BY A SIDE DOOR IF YOU TELL THE GUARD YOU ARE THERE TO WORSHIP.
LIGHT A CANDLE FOR THE ALTAR WITH A PRAYER. YOU AREN'T REQUIRED TO BE CATHOLIC TO DO THIS.
IF FAITH IS NOT YOUR THING, IT WOULD BE DISRESPECTFUL TO USE THIS METHOD.
