I know Leadville, Colorado has the highest US airport--but it's closer to 10,000 feet. It must not be classified as a commercial airport.

Telluride, Colorado isn't quite as high--is it commercial?

Denver Int'l. would only be around 5000 feet, wouldn't it.

Where did the figures come from? I cheated and googled the busiest airport, and came up with these passenger figures (worldwide) from 2004:

G yes should be 9,062 ft so not SF - but i'll give the prize here to Rufus - it's Telluride, according to this USA Today article. Me i'm just the messenger so don't know about Leadville - must be considered commercial airport perhaps.

I think Kate must have the busiest airport - Hartsfield-Jackson in Atlanta but her figures are much higher - again i don't know just reporting.
