Two nights in Florence - where to eat?

I am only going to have 2 nights (well, 1 1/2) in Florence, and I want to make sure I get the most out of it. I am getting in VERY late on Friday night, so for the first restaurant do you know of any that do either 11 or 11:30 PM reservations? As for Saturday night, I am looking for really good food. I don't want to break the bank, but it isn't a huge concern. Would love to find a restaurant that has great atmosphere as well.

Thanks for all your advice! Can't wait for my trip!

Liz

Do all restaurants stay open very late in Florence? I know it depends on the city/country, but 11:30 is still late. If I do go to a restaurant that late, should I make a reservation or can I just walk in?

we liked a restaurant several blocks from the Academia called Perseus. We were probably the only tourists there. Food was excellent and it was moderate in price--very much a neighborhood restaurant--not fancy but fun.

Hi egordon, I kind of think 11:30pm is a bit late to be able to order dinner although I haven't tried it that late. I usually go at about 9:00pm. Restaurants in Italy tend to let one have the table "for the night" rather then rushing you through dinner as some US places do. I would think that by 11:30pm they would be through cooking. I would call a few restaurants to inquire. Or put the names of the restaurants you are interested into the search box on Google and hopefully they will have a website which would no doubt give you their hours. Mangia!

Hi eg,

There is always the MacDonalds across the street from the station. It's to your left as you face the signboard.

For your other night, I suggest
Il Ritrovo Via de’ Pucci 4/A 055.281688
Best food for the price Has fish. Full dinner w/wine abt 40E pp Closed Monday
From Pzza San Giovani (NW corner of the Pza del Duomo) walk one blk East to Via dei Martelli. Go left to Via dei Pucci. Turn Right. Look very carefully on left. No sign. Door could be locked. Ring bell.
