Tuscany memories

It's my boyfriend's first trip to Italy and I'd love us to stay in a memorable location in Tuscany without blowing the budget. Is it possible?

You'll have to define "blowing the budget". How many nights? What time of year? Does the overall trip cost (i.e., cost of geting to and from Italy - - from where?) need to figure into the equation?

More info - - more replies.

Best wishes,

Rex
We are also looking for a memorable experience in Tuscany for two nights. Wea re also staying in Florence for 2 nights. We would like somewhere scenic but not too far from FlorenceWe can not decide between Siena, San G., Montapulcino or Montalcino.

Not Andrea, but I'm also interested in any hotels in great Tuscany towns that would fit within our budget. Due to how many total nights we'll have, our budget per night for a hotel is no more than $100, and preferably less. Thanks for any suggestions.

Of course it is possible. Please tell us when, if you are driving, where do you go from there etc. The more you tell the better the answer.

Tuscany is the place to blow your budget at Locanda dell'Amorosa in Sinalunga. It is conveniently situated near the towns you mentioned but our favorite was Pienza. The rooms are fabulous and we got a rate of $195 including breakfast. The only thing you will regret is not spending more time here and in Tuscany. And rent a car; it's the only way to explore the hill towns. Ciao!

We stayed at the Hotel Villa Belvedere outside of Florence and loved it. The owners were wonderful, the view of Florence terrific, and they had a wonderful St. Bernard named Ben who added so much to our trip (we're big doglovers).

Andrea - I would opt for staying in San Gimignano. I've stayed in San G and Siena and loved Siena during the day, but loved San G more at night. You could do Siena as an easy day trip from San G. We are going again in June and got a rate of 115Euros at La Cisterna right in the heart of San G.
