TUSCANY : BEST SCENIC ROUTE ?

Quick Question :

What is the best scenic route in Tuscany area ?

I'm a photographer, and I'm trying to find the best location and time to take pictures around Tuscany hills.

Hopefully you guys can help.

Thanks in advance

Additional info :

I'll be renting a car and I'll be staying at Villa Palagina (www.palagina.it) just between Siena and Florence.

The best photo ops are south of Siena in the Val D'Orcia. Look for the hill towns of Montalcino, Pienza, Montepulciano and the areas both north and south of S-146. Here are a few samples:

I have created a map using Google Maps to show some of my favorite driving routes located south of Siena. This is the first time I have created one of these maps, so I hope it works!

Zoom in to on the map see each drive in more detail and click on the balloon markers for some information on each drive.

I will try making some /walking/hiking maps also. Stay tuned!

Nice job zoecat !
I would add Santa Anna in Camprena and Bagno Vignoni to your route. Hard to go wrong with that area.

Bob's correct about the Val d'Orcia.

Quoting from an earlier post of mine in answer to this question:

Val d'Orcia, quintessential southern Tuscany.
