Turning in the car in somewhere inNormandy
We will be renting the car at CDG and driving into Normandy for six days.
After we leave the Bayeaux area we will need to turn in our car for the train ride into the city. Are their non-stop trains into Paris and could I please have some suggestions as to which town would make for an easy drop off? Thanks

You could drop it in Caen, or drive to someplace like Chartres or Versailles if you wanted to do a little sightseeing. You can get directly to Paris from any of those. Basically, you can leave it anyplace that has a car rental outfit of the company you're renting from.

We've dropped in Versailles (Chantiers), and took the train from there to Montparnasse station (south bank) in Paris, very frequent trains of 20 minutes or so duration.
If you drop in Caen and take the train into Paris, it will arrive in St. Lazare station on the north bank. Journey will be close to 2 hours to St. Lazare (but of course it saves you driving that much more as well.)
Bon voyage.

There are loads of places you could drop your car off and take a train to Paris but you should decide on where you want to visit first and then find a drop off town that would coincide with where you are ending your vacation. For example, it wouldn't make sense to drop the car off in Caen if you ended your vacation near Rennes since Rennes has car drop off and a direct TGV connection to Paris. And there's no reason you couldn't just drive your car into Paris and drop it off there but I know some people don't want to drive into Paris.

We do like to ride trains, my dad was an engineer during WW11 and here in the states. It's a nice memory.
I'm thinking of making a circle and driving the car to unseen territory, look around and then ride the train in. We would like a place where the car is turned in at the train station preferably.
Sue, StCirq, Gretchen and Frenchmysterie, thanks for the information, I have my maps and will be studying my locations this week. I'll need to study the Paris stations as well. We are staying in the sixth add, I believe.
