LowCountryIslander, wonderful report, as stated above. With your extensive travels in Italy, it's really a compliment to the Piemonte area that you would rate it as your fave. Toward the end of our trip, we were in just a bit of the Piemonte...very different from the places you visited. We're just into that section of our TR. Your TR gives us ideas for future travels in Italy!

Happy New Year and Fun Travels in 2015!

LCI---this just sounds like an amazing trip. Love that you went truffle hunting and Chaz will be envious of the Barolo. A favorite of his ( although he holds no royal title)!

Wanted to top this because of a discussion on another thread. But I also owe you thanks for the information on Turin, a city I very much enjoyed.

thursdaysd...

I just returned from another great Italian adventure and was surprised to see this trip report from last year at the top of my Fodors list.

It may take me some time to get my latest trip report (Rome and Umbria) put together, but stay tuned for another "LCI and Mom" Italy trip. ;-)

Hi LCI, will be watching for your TR from Rome and Umbria. "It may take some time to get my latest trip report together". I know that well, as we're attempting to stay on task to complete our TR from our Sept. trip to Central Europe.

I'll keep my eye out for your TR. Yours are always so interesting and filled with helpful details.

Looking forward to it, LCI. Maybe you will convince me to give Rome another try. (On the other hand, I just gave Madrid a second chance, and don't expect to return.)

Can't believe I missed this report first time around. Great job. This is definitely an area we would like to visit. Thanks.

I always enjoy your TR's - not only is the detail great, I love that you travel with your Mum AND you've inspired me to be a little more adventurous with my food choices and aware of regional specialties. So pleased there's another TR coming

You talked us into it...Next year, we're spending three nights in Turin and four in La Morra as part of our trip. Loved re-reading your spectacular report. Thanks!

LowCountryIslander,
Many thanks for this lovely and detailed TR. We're off to Turin on Sunday and I have fingers crossed that the restaurants you mentioned will still be there! I'm pretty sure I can count on the museums, churches and palaces.
To me, this is the best of this website and I hope to return the favour by writing my own TR en route.
Now I'm off to find a TR equal to yours about Bologna and Cortona!

I'm counting on you goddesstogo. We're headed to Bologna next year, too.
