Should we rent a car or take the train? Sitges, Montserrat, where else? Day or overnight? Am interested in restaurant choices too.

We took a wonderful 3 day side trip from Barcelona to the Languedoc Roussillon area of France, just above Spain. We also visited Colluire where Matisse lived and painted.

We drove out to Montserrat and it was SO worth it. Absolutely beautiful. We were there in February of last year and it was snow-covered.

I also take a day trip to Montserrat at really enjoyed it.

You can easily do both Sitges and Montserrat by either car or train. Unless you prefer to rent a car or want that additional flexibility you don't need to....really a matter of personal preference in this case I would say.

Oh, and one more thing....please don't be put off from Sitges because someone on here tells you about the "gay love" that goes on "in the streets" in Sitges.
It is a popular gay and straight venue but people there aren't particularly interested in having you "observe" their private liafe!
