trip to salsburg
Hi
we are a family of 4,children 7and11 and want to catch a train from Munich to Salsburg and stay overnight. I cant seem to find any information about the 25e bayern pass that I have read about on this site and also the timetable for the train. One other question is, are we able to take our large luggage on these trains without any problems. Thanks for any help

Hi J,
If you go to www.bahn.de you will find schedules and tickets.
You may take as much luggage on a train as you can carry.

Just go to the ticket window at the Hauptbahnhof in Munich and ask for Bayern Pass. It is not good on all trains, just the slower ones and I believe they must also be off peak. You handle your own luggage and there should be adequate room.

The BK costs 25 Euro online, 27 if purchased from an agent, and allows up to 5 people to travel together from 9am-3am in second class on certain local trains (InterRegioExpress, RegionalExpress, RegionalBahn, S-Bahn) and the entire transport system of the Verkehrsverbünde.

Duh, I didn't read your post closely enough, LarryinColorado. Sorry! I thought you were saying the pass was only good between peak rush hour times.
(I you live in Colorado, aren't we having fantastic winter weather? Shhh... don't tell anyone else.)
