It certainly sounds like you had heaps of fun. Plenty of things to daydream about until the next time. I'm really interest in Caveau de la Huchette? Is it expensive, incredibly crowded, hard to get a seat? Please spill the beans.

Thank you all for your kind remarks about my first Fodor's trip report!
As far as the moulds...they are made of a solid block of lead (i think), incredibly heavy and bulky. I have an old kitchen hutch in my dining room on which i'll display them along with favorite serving dishes i've collected over the years.
Caveau de la Huchette was not difficult to get into...and seating was fairly plentiful. I believe it cost around 10 euro each for entrance. Well worth it as the band was lively and the crowd enthusiastic!
I cannot recommend the Montorgueil area highly enough. You should all take just a couple of hours out of your next trip to Paris to explore these darling streets. In fact, I will not ever do research again...going right back there...without hesitation!
I am off to Canada today for a skiing trip, and TC is enjoying the beaches of Playa del Carmen in Mexico. We'll be back together soon for a glass of wine, some stinky cheese, and our most recent glorious memories.

Missdaisy, you've found out why Hemingway called Paris a "moveable feast" - once you taste Paris it is always with you. My hubby and I have been there 5 times since '99, each time for two weeks and we leave again on May 29. As someone else posted, it seems the more often you go, the more you need to go! Venice is also pretty wonderful. I read somewhere recently the statement "Venice would be my favorite place if it weren't for Paris". Loved your trip report.

LVSue - sorry I didn't see your question earlier. We leave Monday May 2. If you think you would be up to something your first day there, write me at [email protected]. I think we met about 3 years ago. People change their screen names so often I am not sure it is the same Sue.
