Hi amyb-
I *tried* to look for you last night at the lecture, or I should say, *tried* to look for your coat last night but I wasn't sure if I spotted you... Were you the one with the large green purse/shoulder bag?

YK, neither of us made it. My sis is quite sick but I was still planning to go. But then I got stuck on the commuter rail going home, didn't even get in my door until 6:30 (instead of 5:15) and it was 45 mins back in...the joys of the MBTA! How was it?

Oh that's too bad. I hope your sister is getting better.
Hmmm... the lecture was fine, I guess. The speaker/author kind of irked me (he probably just pressed my wrong button) as I found him coming across as rather pompous. The other lady, forgot her name but she's the senior curator for European paintings with grey wavy hair, she was EXCELLENT.
Since I've read one book on van Meegeren before ("I Was Vermeer" by Frank Wynne)

There wasn't really anything new that I learned from last night's lecture. So overall, it wasn't a well-spent $20.
But it did get me to see 2 of the new exhibitions while I was there. Saw the Splendor and Elegance show on European Decorative Arts, and the photography one.
