you have a gift for letting your joy bubble out of your report. Your pictures are a real pleasure, but I would respectfully submit that the photo you have labeled as Tour St. Jacques may possibly be the Colonne de Juillet at Place Bastille.

Thanks for the kind words, Laidback. You are probably correct regarding that photo -- I wasn't sure about the name, so I was going by my map, I believe.

Actually, I don't think it is the Colonne de Juillet at Place Bastille. I just found this photo and compared the two -- http://www.paris.org/Monuments/Basti...s/bastille.jpg -- they both have angels on top, but the columns are different.

BUT... I definitely don't think it is Tour St. Jacques, either, after looking at several web sites. Hmmmm... what is it?
