Trip photos - Florence & Venice

In case anyone would like a peek, photos from our recent trip to Florence and Venice are now online at: http://tinyurl.com/2cq3v2

I've also been writing a trip report to accompany the pics but not had a chance to add to it over the past few days. Beware! Despite being unfinished, it's still really rather long, so maybe only of interest to those with plenty of spare time!

WOW! Thanks for posting the link. Your photos are just wonderful. I like how you fill the frame and cut off the subject at the edge (I'm not sure what the correct terminology is for that!).

Excellent photos! You certainly have the professional "eye." Wish I did.

We leave 2 weeks from today for Venice, but who's counting?

I haven't even looked at Venice and Florence yet! I saw Dorset on your home page and had to go there first. My body might be in FL but my heart and soul are somewhere along the Dorset coast. The pictures are magnificent..Corfe castle is especially lovely..and the birds in flight .WOW!!

Off to Italy now.

Utterly gorgeous! That Venice picture of the reflections in the water almost looks like a pre-historic cave painting

Thnak you so much for sharing your husband's brillant work!

Lovely photos - what happened to the Chesil Beahch link. I finished the book a couple of weeks ago and was hoping that I could see your pictures

Hi Jody & Wombat,
Glad you enjoyed the pictures of Italy - and the Dorset ones too! My mother is originally from Dorset but hasn't lived there for years. Recently we've been lucky to spend a couple of weekends renting a cottage in the area with my folks. It really is a beautiful part of England!

Wombat - Neil had to remove the original Dorset pics this morning to free up some web space to load the Italy ones. He then didn't get around to changing the homepage (he has done so now though). Some more recent Dorset pics are here however: http://tinyurl.com/ywy3v8

The older ones of Chesil beach were mainly taken from Portland so more of an aerial view. If you'd like to see copies, then you can email him through his site. Hope that helps!

These pictures are amazing (both Italy and Dorset). I missed your trip report so thank you for the link. I'll enjoy it this evening (supposed to be working now - hah!)

Have only looked at Venice so far, but they're fabulous! What was going on in San Marco with the flags and the men in ceremonial dress? (sorry if you explain in the trip report-haven't gotten there).

Hi quiUK,

I can't get the photos to load right now but I remember your excellent NYC report and photos from a while ago so I'll keep trying. Thanks for posting.

quiUK, I knew when I read your report that your photos would be great!

Would you ask your husband a question for me? I noticed that he is using the Canon EOS. I have the EOS digital rebel and have trouble with my night shots. Would you ask him if he used the manual setting for his night shots? They are especially beautiful. I need some practice before I go. Thanks for sharing.

Breathtaking. Wow. I leave tomorrow and now am more anxious than ever. Your (or your husband's I should say) photos are . . .wow! He could sell them! Where I live, people would love to have his stuff hanging on their walls!

Beautiful, inspiring photos--artistic, warm, creative, interesting perspectives! Loved the chair hanging on the outside wall of the building in Venice. Thanks for sharing! Will read your trip report as we are leaving in about 2 weeks for the same cities. Looks as if you had warm weather for your trip?
