trip from London in Feb

It's been a while since I've been on fodors and longer since I've posted. I've got too many over due trip reports to post. BUT I'm looking for ideas.
I'll take a deep breath and ask my question.
My husband and I have separated after 15 years of marriage. He will be taking our kids on the annual Feb ski trip. That leaves me with a week alone for travel.
WHERE SHOULD I GO???? I don't want to spend too much time on a plane or dealing with time zones. But I have a limitless budget. I'm only constrained by wanting to be abe to travel by myself and not be stuck with a bunch of intact (happy??) families.
All I've come up with so far is a week in India. Any ideas out there???

There are some great little hotels in Marocco who will pamper you either in the city or in the high atlas (one even run by the bearded twit) him of virgin fame.

Other wise there are always spas

Hang in there, Girl; it does get better.

My suggestion is London. If it gets boring after a couple of days, head out to Barcelona --

India. It's a good time of year, and usually good for people by themselves. Just hire a driver for a week. If the 8-hour flight and 4.5 hour time change fits your brief.

Otherwise, how about Jordan (you can drive yourself round) or Syria? Again, good time of the year, amazingly safe (no-one dares lift a finger against you in Syria with the psychopathic tyrants running the place. And terrorism there's strictly for export) and relatively painless time change.

If you don't want to spend time on a plane, you could get the Eurostar to Brussels or France then connect with a TGV to many other places - Strasbourg is one idea.

Another idea is staying in Valletta on Malta, which we loved but the weather may not be so good in Feb. You could check temperatures on www.wunderground.com they have historical weather data.

Good luck with the plans!

Just had another thought. My sister can never get her husband to travel with her so went on a trip on her own last year with this company -

www.intrepidtravel.com/

She thought they were fantastic, might be worth looking at for ideas.

thanks for the responses. I'm looking a a tour- for the first time ever as I don't want to be totally on my own.
I'm leaning toward India but will need to choose between an adventure type trip or a luxury tour. Or a week at a spa might be good for me as well.
My friends all think I'm doing my own version of Eat, Pray, Love.
Why not!

Give some thought to Explore Worldwide - who do small group tours which in my experience (and I've used them lots) are made up of couples and singles of mixed ages (average is probably about 40).

http://www.explore.co.uk/

Highly recommended.

Apologies for posting and not getting back until now. It's been a stressful few months for me.
I've booked a trip with exodus.co.uk I've NEVER ever done a tour group. But I didn't want to think too much on this trip. I'm off to India for ten days on a tiger safari. I've very excited. I'm flying ahead and have an extra day before flying back to London.
thanks for all the ideas.

I was the idiot who suggested London if you wanted to get away....I missed the part (in the title, no less...) where it states you ARE from London.

Hey, wouldn't you know.. I was going to suggest INDIA!!

Have a great time!!
