Trip For Physical, Intellectual, Emotional Exercize

Croesus the road quality is fine but it is divided highway for only half of the way and the other half still with too many risky bends.
Also radar and speed checks are quite frequent. At least my age tells me that they are.
We had good fresh local bananas, tangerines and apples on the way; and yesterday a German man out for his morning walk gave my wife and I a small handfull of jujubies, from his neighbour's garden, he said. When I asked peasants I met buying thyme honey, flower honey,
honeydew honey and unroasted almonds (some placed in dried figs) about jujube, they had not even heard of it. One showed me her two avocado trees and said they had never tried the fruits. Unfortunately the new ones were not yet fully grown for me to take home.
our hotel is magical with bad or no food, this being its last week of the season. Our junior suite for the price of les than a regular room due to the season is about 370 sq. feet and has a totally private veranda with full pool and beach view. Nice comfy bed, acceptable pillows, great storage, WI-FI and only three years old. Fine sand stretches maybe 180 feet toward the depths, mostly knee to waist high. Temperatures given as 19 to 27 degrees C throughout Summer into October. Yesterday it was about 21 due to some wind, today, possibly 25-26.
Photos of Datca and hotel will follow, if not tonight, then tomorrow.

Trip extended, after Bafa, to also include a visit to other friends at Didyma where we stayed one night in their expansive house. Visited some remains of Herakleia and the impressive temple of Apollo at Didyma, as well as the Theatre of Miletus.
We were both feeling miserable on the way back for some reason. The 450 kilometre drive to Bandirma where we took the ferry to Istanbul, did not want to finish. Yet, we had some great 20 minutes or so at a roadside cafe which overlooked a small canyon, had black mulberry, blackberry and wild strawberry juices sitting at platforms stretching over the canyon while feeding two cats and six dogs the last of our cat and dog food. The location is about twentyfive kilometres before Balikesir, coming from Izmir. It is called "Sakli Vadi" (hidden valley)

sorry your trip left you feeling a bit down. OC. I think that sometimes, especially at times of personal or other difficulty, a holiday can take one out of oneself so much that it's very difficult to go back.
Alternatively you might just both be coming down with a cold!
[thanks for the link, Croesus - it does look a bit chilly].
