Any interest in the landing beaches of Normandy and the cemeteries? Very interesting. Also think about driving down to Mont St Michel - amazing place. All very reasonable from Honfleur. Also consider visiting the really neat seaside towns of the area and just nosing around. It is a great area. Here is a link that has some good information.

Thanks for the recent replys to my posting.....have just scheduled the trip and have not had the opportunity to do much research as life just gets in the way when the trip is not until next spring. Actually, the riverboat trip is 8 days which includes stops in conflans-vernon, Rouen, Caudelbec, Honfleur...and we will definitely spend time covering Normandy as my husband is a WWII buff. We have traveled in France, mostly Provence and south and never in this region. We know the loire valley is recommended....have a tendency to enjoy small villages, love good food and would like nice places to stay. We realize 4 days is nothing, but hope to enjoy what time we have. As for Paris, we love it and have enjoyed it but will not have the time to spend this trip. We are open to all options, even though we are in our 60's, we are young at heart and not limiting ourselves as to what is to do.

We're taking similar or same Seine river cruise in mid-September (GCT) with extra days in Paris. So will listen for suggestions...especially
for Paris. We're in our 70s and enjoy arts, scenery, history, food.
Were in Paris once but all to briefly.
So given our preferences names anyone name ten top things not to miss in Paris?

My husband just informed me that we will be picking our car up in Caen, therefore we will be attempting to head toward Paris on our 4 days of travel, before flying out. Our recent thoughts have been to head to Blois and spend some time in the Loire Valley. Any thoughts on this and if so, where to stay, what to not miss.
