I was just on it, researching an answer for anothe poster. It worked fine for me. Try www.trenitalia.it (instead of dot com).

Oh-I thought I could order from Trenitalia.com and have them shipped within Europe, but not to the States? If I can not ship within Europe I suppose I will give up on Trenitalia. Has anyone ever reserved tickets and picked them up at the window? I am just one of those people that feels better if everything is reserved in advance. That way, I don't have to spend time on my vacation taking care of this sort of thing.

I would love to know the answer regarding whether tickets can be ordered for delivery in the states.I had intended to use this site to purchase train tickets for our upcoming trip once I was inside their 60 day window. They are much cheaper than purchasing through the raileurope site.

I just checked the site to see what Chris was talking about originally (sorry Chris for not reading your message more carefully). It looks like you will not be able to register, and I doubt that anyone could tell you when the service may be available again. (This "service" is good preparation for any future experiences with the Italian train system.)Trust me on this. If I went to the train station this afternoon, I would probably get a different answer from every official I asked. I feel lucky to actually receive ticket to the destination I requested.

If I were you, I would not count on purchasing tickets through www.trenitalia. I would wait until I got to Italy if possible. Wish I could give you better news.
