Trenitalia help
Hoping someone has had a similar experience and can shed some light... I booked two tickets from Venice to Florence on the Trenitalia web page. My account showed a pending charge, my bank has record of approving it but, never received a confirmation from Trenitalia with my reservation or a posting to my bank account. Do I keep waiting. Does this take some time. Help. So confused!!! Very appreciative of any advice. Thanks.

I may have an answer but I'm a little confused. First, the possible answer.
You say you never received confirmation. Do you mean e-mail confirmation? If so, it's possible the confirmation got caught in your spam filter. Check your spam folder if you have access to it.
Now the confusion: Your bank has a record of approving the charge but you never received "a posting to my bank account." How can your bank have a record of approving it without posting it. That sounds like a bank problem, not a Trenitalia problem.

The bank could easily have approved the charge and Trenitalia has not actually put the charge through. I've had this happen in other transactions...the approval comes first but the charge isn't actually put through until later. BUT, how much "later" is the issue here IMO...for some reason the charge may never come through which implies you do not have the ticket, either.
I would contact the bank again to ensure the charge has never come through before proceeding further.

Thanks for your responses. I am too confused. I'm afraid to buy again. I used my ATM/Visa but that shouldn't be an issue as it goes in as a VISA charge. I don't think it is a bank problem. Confirmation from Trenitalia is not in my spam folder. I will call my bank and try again. I have a confrimation from the bank approving the charge, I had to use a secure site through my bank for overseas and I called my bank. I'm afraid Trenitalia will post it soon after I rebuy the seats. I'll post and let you know how the next chapter goes...
