Beautiful! thanks for sharing your trip and pics... i'm planning on going to Turkey in July for a wedding. He's from Turkey, she from Iran. i'm SO excited. Your pics really gave me a 'feel' for the area. So many people ask me 'why' as well, but i cant imagine why not?

David,
Loved your pictures. I noticed you did the Rick Steves tour of Turkey. I'm considering doing this tour in September of 2007 and wanted to know how you liked the tour? I've been on the RS Ireland tour and thought it was great, just wanted to get some thoughts on the RS Turkey tour.
Thanks in advance for any comments.

Love the donkey picture. While driving in the country we kept seeing donkeys ambling along the road all alone pulling carts. When we asked someone about that he said the women take the donkey out to the fields to work for the day. The donkey goes back home. At the end of the day, the men finish their day of card playing, smoking, and drinking at the local bar and sent the cart back out to the fields to pick up the women so they can come home to fix dinner. Bra-burning never happened in Turkey!

Hi David,
Beautiful Pictures. Nice brief info. Thank you for your nice work. The 1st. Guzelyurt picture from Cappadocia slide show is Mustafapasa if you recall the place, just to correct the location.
Best Regards,
Murat

David, a great report. In 1996 I traveled with Pacha Tours and Lale was my guide. There were only 4 of us on the trip - practically a private tour. From your report I have gotten in contact with Lale and her tour company. How thrilling for me.
I want to go back to Turkey next year and am in conversation with Lale. Thanks for reporting, Nancy
