Traveling from Florence to Amalfi
My husband and I are going to Italy Mid May.
I wanted to figure out the best way to get from Florence to Positano. Can anyone give us some suggestion?s Our Itinerary is fly to Rome train to Florence 4 nights, go to Positano 3 nights, Capri 1 night then back to Rome for 4 nights. Thoughts on traveling between cities?

Hi lizal,
FYI, You are going to the Amalfi Coast. Amalfi is a city on the Amalfi Coast.
If you are going by public transportation, you can
A. Train to Salerno, ferry to Positano.
This is the scenic route. It drops you off at the bottom of the town.
The ferry docks are about 3 blks SE of the train station.
For Ferry schedules Positano – Amalfi - Salerno (P.zza della Concordia):
See http://www.salernocity.com/comune/tr...i/costiera.asp
B. Train to Naples, take the Circumvesuviana commuter train from downstairs in the train station, take the SITA bus to Positano. This drops you off at the top of town.
See www.trenitalia.com for train schedules.
To get to Rome from Capri, take the ferry to Naples, cab to the train station, take the train to Rome.
