Rome to Amalfi

We're going to Amalfi for the last two weeks in Sept.
Any advice on how to get there from Rome and what to expect as far as weather goes?

See my previous posting: Rome to Positano: the FAST WAY for information about transportation.

For the town of Amalfi, take the same ferry boat from Salerno/Concordia Dock which goes to Positano, but get off in Amalfi after 30 minutes. Fare is Euro 4.00.

This information assumes that you want to go directly to Amalfi from Rome, w/o stopping in Naples, Sorrento or Positano enroute.

Hi issa,

Takee the train to Salerno and the ferry to Amalfi.

The ferry dock is about 2 blocks SW from the train station main exit.

You can also take the SITA bus to Amalfi. The stop is just in front of the main exit from the train station.

Ira/Others: Is this my best option to get from Ravello to Firenze? (besides springing for a driver)

1. Bus from Ravello to Amalfi (how frequent? can I find a timetable on the SITA website? will it be crowded in the morning around 8/9ish?

2. Ferry from Amalfi to Salerno (I think there's one at 10am)

3.Train from Salerno to Florence.

Still having problems with Circumvensia website/figuring out timetable from Salerno to Florence. Any help is appreciated. Thanks! Julie

Nevermind with the timetables, found them on the Trenitalia website.

It looks like there are no direct Buses from Amalfi to Salerno - is this really the case? appears to be a Metro del Mare ferry at 10:10 and a Coop SantAndrea ferry at 10:40 and 12:45. Perhaps I should get a driver after all.

There are Direct buses from Amalfi to Salerno (Quadro XV). Go to WWW.sita-on-line.it. Take the 09:05 bus from Ravello to Amalfi then get the 10:00 bus from Amalfi to Salerno.

Hi jck,

Are you OK, now?

You take the SITA bus from Ravello to Amalfi.

You take either the SITA bus or the ferry to Salerno.

The bus stops at the train station.
The ferry dock is about 2 blocks SE of the train station.

You take the Trenitalia train to Florence.
