Swagman - I posted on Dukey's thread directions for public transport if that interests you. Sita bus Positano/Meta (reaches Meta 25 minutes before it would reach Sorrento), Circumvesiviana train Meta/Pompeii (Meta is closer than Sorrento to Pompeii). Day ticket is currently 7.60€. You would need to make sure the bus stops at Meta as not all do.
