Hi b,

Your link goes to the legend for smileys.

Is that what you intended?

Wha happens if you go to the "News and Announcements" folder and click there?

I also get the smileys when I go to the Music, Movies, Books folder.

I think that the link the bronxzilla wanted to post is this one:

http://www.fodors.com/forums/threads...p;tid=34695098

(Note the fid=2. In the first link posted, fid=1868. fid=2 marks the "Europe" forum on Fodors.)

Why not simply top the thread in question? I only see one response to that thread so far.

Bizarre.

I think that somehow Fodor's must be trying to create a "News and Annoucements" forum (fid=1868, I guess), but somehow this is not accessible or something.

There's a "News and Annoucements" option in the pulldown menu.

But then if you try that (try switching forums to that imaginary forum), you get the smileys page.

It's a bug in the system.

You can access bronxzilla's thread by removing the FID rfrece from the URL altogether...

http://www.fodors.com/forums/threads...p?tid=34695098

I'll read and comment there...

I think that just defaults the left panel to the US forum.

The Fodor's design/interface is really a clunker.

I agree... omitting the fid= defaults to fid=1 - - but at least my URL will direct to the thread in question. I'm not sure how else to get there!

Oh rex, read my 10:26 am post....

If you reset the fid as fid=2, you could get there -- the left panel defaults to the Europe forum.

You probably posted your 10:27 am post when I posted my 10:26 am post.

Sometimes I wonder if anyone reads anything I write in this forum.

I think it's a bug in the system. They're in the process of creating an fid=1868 (News and Annoucements) but that's not accessible at the moment.
